On November 12–14, 2025, the Republic of Uzbekistan is hosting the First Forum of Interregional Cooperation of the Central Asian States under the motto “Cooperation Without Borders.”

The event brought together representatives of government agencies, business communities, and chambers of commerce and industry of the region. The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (KazCIC) was represented at the plenary session “Business Leaders – Drivers of Regional Cooperation” by Chairman of the Board Murat Karimsakov.

In his address, he noted that the Forum had become a significant event for the entire region, reflecting the aspiration of Central Asian countries to strengthen economic ties, promote good-neighborly relations, and develop new mechanisms for business interaction.

“Regional cooperation today is reaching a qualitatively new level. We are moving from political and intergovernmental dialogue to practical economics, where business plays a key role. Entrepreneurs are the ones who create real production chains, generate jobs, develop trade, and give cooperation a tangible and measurable dimension,” emphasized Mr. Karimsakov.

According to Murat Karimsakov, business interest in interregional projects is growing year by year. Currently, more than 1,041 enterprises with Kazakh capital are registered in Uzbekistan, while over 4,500 companies with Uzbek capital operate in Kazakhstan. These figures demonstrate that the business communities of Central Asia are ready not only to trade but also to build joint economic ecosystems based on trust and mutual benefit.

The session also discussed priority areas of cooperation, including the development of industrial cooperation and value-added chains, creation of efficient transport and logistics routes, digitalization of trade processes, as well as personnel training and exchange of experience between the countries of the region.

Mr. Karimsakov stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to actively cooperate with partners from Central Asian countries in developing industrial and innovation projects, logistics centers, and new production capacities.

It was noted that in recent years there has been a steady positive trend in mutual trade turnover. In 2024–2025 alone, Kazakhstan concluded over 50 agreements with regional partners aimed at expanding industrial cooperation and creating joint production facilities.

During the Forum, participants also discussed the harmonization of customs procedures, logistics routes, and certification standards, as well as the need to introduce unified labeling rules and digitalize transport corridors.
