The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan reminds of the possibility to confirm force majeure during the flood period

With the onset of the flood season in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the risks of disruption to transport and logistics increase, including temporary road closures and traffic restrictions, which may affect the timely fulfillment of contractual obligations by business entities.

In this regard, The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan informs the business community about the possibility of obtaining a certificate confirming the occurrence of force majeure circumstances. In cases where floods cause difficulties in cargo delivery, lead to delays in supply, or make the fulfillment of obligations impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the parties, entrepreneurs are entitled to apply to the Chamber for official confirmation of such circumstances.

According to The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, over the past two years, business entities have received around 200 force majeure certificates specifically related to the consequences of floods, which confirms the relevance of this support mechanism in such situations.

Obtaining a force majeure certificate allows it to be used within contractual relations to substantiate the impossibility of fulfilling obligations and, as a result, to avoid penalties and fines.

The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan continues to support businesses in the context of external and internal factors affecting foreign economic activity by providing legal and organizational assistance in such situations.
