Sectoral Cooperation and New Projects: Forum in Kyrgyzstan Marks an Important Stage for the EAEU

Murat Karimsakov, Member of the Board – Head of the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken”, took part in the 7th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, held on August 13, 2025, in Bosteri as part of the scientific and practical conference “10 Years Since the Kyrgyz Republic Joined the EAEU.”
The event brought together representatives of government authorities, business circles, and the academic and expert community from the EAEU member states. The forum became a significant platform for discussing current issues of bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation, searching for new formats of collaboration, and strengthening partnership ties.
The discussions covered prospects for cooperation in sectors such as industry, agro-industrial complex, transport and logistics, digital economy, creative industries, and the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Participants focused on opportunities for creating joint ventures, implementing innovative technologies, expanding trade turnover, and simplifying mutual trade procedures.
A separate area of focus was stimulating investments, reducing barriers to the movement of goods and services, and developing transport and logistics infrastructure to enhance the competitiveness of the Union’s member states. Special attention was given to the creation of a unified innovation space, supporting startups, and implementing educational initiatives to train a new generation of specialists.
Statistics confirm the positive dynamics of integration: in 2024, mutual trade among EAEU countries reached almost USD 98.3 billion, and in 2025, the Union is close to surpassing USD 100 billion. For Kazakhstan, since joining the EAEU, this figure has grown by 87.1% — from USD 16.3 billion in 2015 to USD 30.5 billion in 2024. Exports to Union countries increased by 115.7%, reaching USD 11 billion. The share of mutual trade in the EAEU’s total foreign trade turnover rose from 13.5% to 19.8%, reflecting the strengthening of economic ties.
Murat Karimsakov noted: “Eurasian integration provides Kazakhstani businesses with access to new markets, technologies, and partners. Today we see that joint projects in industry, agro-industrial complex, logistics, and the digital sphere can become growth drivers not only for individual companies but also for the economies of the Union’s member states as a whole. The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs ‘Atameken’ is ready to facilitate the development of business connections, organize B2B meetings, and implement promising initiatives.”
Following the forum, the parties expressed their readiness to continue joint work on launching new projects, expanding cooperation, and strengthening the positions of EAEU countries in global markets.
