On July 4, 2025, the international Central Asia Goods and Trade EXPO successfully took place in the Chinese city of Yining (Kuldzha), becoming a significant event for the development of cross-border economic cooperation and strengthening of business ties among the countries of the region. Kazakhstan was represented by a delegation from the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (KAZCIC), which showcased the country’s export potential and highlighted priority areas for developing bilateral relations with China.

The exhibition venue in Khorgos served as a unique meeting point for government agencies, entrepreneurs, and representatives of investment structures from Central Asia and China. Participants discussed prospects for cooperation, exchanged practical experience, and presented joint projects aimed at expanding trade and economic ties.

The Kazakh delegation presented products from the agro-industrial complex, emphasizing their high quality and export potential. In addition, visitors were introduced to promising projects and initiatives in logistics, industrial cooperation, and e-commerce, reflecting modern trends in economic development and engagement with Chinese partners.

At the official opening ceremony, Alisher Darkembayev, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Activities of the KAZCIC, emphasized the strategic importance of the exhibition:

“Today’s exhibition is not just a demonstration of goods, it is a dynamic ecosystem of international trade where new supply chains are created, interregional ties are strengthened, and a new model of economic partnership is formed—one that can adapt to the current challenges of the global economy. Khorgos plays a special role as a strategic point connecting the Belt and Road Initiative with Central Asia, serving as an important transport, trade, and investment hub.”

During the EXPO, it was also noted that China holds a leading position among Kazakhstan’s trading partners. By the end of 2024, the volume of bilateral trade had reached a record high of USD 44 billion, a result of consistent joint efforts by government bodies, the business community, and development institutions of both countries.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, KAZCIC representatives held a series of productive B2B meetings with Chinese entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities for joint production, expanding exports of Kazakhstani goods, and attracting investment. Particular attention was given to small and medium-sized enterprises, for which participation in the EXPO became an important opportunity to access the Chinese market.

The participation of the KAZCIC in the Khorgos EXPO reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening economic integration with China and the countries of Central Asia. It also reinforced the role of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan as a reliable partner and effective facilitator for foreign companies seeking access to the markets of the Eurasian region.
