The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Opens a Representative Office in Sanya to Support Business

On August 28, 2025, within the framework of the International Business Summit held in Sanya, Hainan Province (China), the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (KazCIC) officially opened its representative office.

The new office will serve as a key platform to support Kazakhstani companies seeking to enter the Chinese market. It will assist in organizing business missions, exhibitions, and providing consultations for exporters, as well as promoting joint cultural and economic initiatives.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Chamber, Murat Karymsakov, delivered a welcome address. He emphasized that the establishment of the Sanya office is an important step in strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and China:

“Our representative office will not only help Kazakhstani entrepreneurs discover new opportunities in China, but will also serve as a platform for launching joint projects, exchanging expertise, and developing promising areas ranging from logistics and agriculture to creative industries and tourism. We are confident that this decision will open new horizons for business and strengthen mutual ties.”

In his remarks, Murat Karymsakov noted that creative industries today account for more than 3% of global GDP, and that Kazakhstan and China have significant potential in the fields of ethno-design, crafts, gastronomy, and tourism. In 2024, bilateral trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China reached USD 43.8 billion, with a goal to double this figure by 2030.

He also outlined four key areas of cooperation:

• logistics and transport corridors — accelerating cargo flows and digitalizing procedures;

• agriculture and food security — building sustainable supply chains;

• green energy and sustainable development — joint projects in renewable energy sources;

• cultural and creative industries — promotion of crafts, ethno-design, gastronomy, and tourism.

The opening of the Chamber’s representative office in Sanya has become a milestone event, reaffirming the commitment of both sides to bring practical content to bilateral cooperation and opening new opportunities for Kazakhstani entrepreneurs
