On May 21, 2026, the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan held a meeting with a delegation of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Vice President Mustafa Mohamed Ramadhan. During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier within the framework of the Kazakhstan–Kenya Business Forum held with the participation of the Heads of State.

Particular attention was given to transforming the institutional agreement into practical cooperation between the business communities of the two countries. The parties reviewed prospects for increasing bilateral trade, establishing direct contacts between companies, and facilitating market access for businesses from Kazakhstan and Kenya.

Among the priority areas discussed were the supply of Kenyan products to the Kazakhstani market, including tea, coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, nuts, spices, and other agricultural products. In turn, the Kazakhstani side highlighted its export potential in wheat, flour, vegetable oils, fertilizers, metals, construction materials, machinery, and chemical products. Representatives of companies such as KNCCI, KEPROBA, and Barrinate Farms also took part in the meeting.

The parties also focused on the formation of structured business pools of companies interested in entering each other’s markets, the exchange of sectoral priorities, the organization of targeted B2B meetings, and follow-up support for negotiations up to the level of pilot shipments and commercial contracts. In addition, opportunities for organizing trade missions, exhibitions, and business forums were discussed to expand direct interaction between entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Kenya.

Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, Murat Karimsakov, noted: “We consider today’s meeting to be a very important continuation of the Memorandum signed within the framework of the Business Forum. We now have a good opportunity to transform this institutional agreement into real business cooperation.”

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in building systematic and results-oriented cooperation aimed at developing bilateral trade, expanding business ties, and creating new opportunities for businesses in Kazakhstan and Kenya.
