Business Circles of Kazakhstan and Germany Discuss New Areas of Cooperation
On April 29, 2026, a meeting with a delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany was held at the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atameken. During the meeting, the parties discussed the transition to a new stage of bilateral engagement and held a substantive dialogue on expanding cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Presidium of Atameken, Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “Ak Zhol,” Azat Peruashev, as well as heads of профиль departments of the Chamber. The German side was represented by investors and executives of leading companies operating in subsoil use, water technologies, mechanical engineering, tourism, insurance, and high-tech solutions, including Delcreda GmbH Mainz, City Tours Europe GmbH, Texoga, and Hereus.

During the meeting, Kanat Sharlapayev highlighted the role of Atameken as a key institution supporting business, facilitating dialogue with government bodies, and providing assistance in investment project implementation. He also emphasized the importance of practice-oriented cooperation and long-term partnership between the countries.
“Germany traditionally remains one of Kazakhstan’s key technological partners. By the end of 2025, bilateral trade turnover reached USD 4.4 billion, showing a 9.5% increase. Our exports to Germany amounted to USD 1.2 billion, with crude oil still dominating at 78%. However, our strategic goal is diversification. We aim to increase supplies of high value-added products, from metallurgy to deep processing in the agro-industrial sector. At the same time, imports from Germany totaling USD 3.1 billion are essentially ‘investments in development.’ We are interested in German equipment and technologies that form the basis for modernizing our production,” Sharlapayev noted.

In turn, representatives of the German delegation presented the activities and competencies of their companies. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and developing projects in the tourism sector, modern water treatment technologies, trade credit management, production of military equipment, and several other areas.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and expressed readiness to develop concrete investment initiatives and launch joint projects.
