

The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau Agreed to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

On July 11, 2025, a working meeting took place in Astana between representatives of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and a delegation from the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation and implementing joint initiatives.
From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by Assan Zhakishev, Member of the Board and Chief of Staff of the Chamber. The Chinese delegation was led by Zhang Huayu, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau.
The parties exchanged views on current issues of cooperation and identified specific areas for joint work. Key topics of the talks included the participation of Chinese companies in the upcoming 20th China Commodities Exhibition in Kazakhstan, the organization of B2B meetings with Kazakh businesses, the development of joint infrastructure and logistics projects, as well as the implementation of initiatives within the “One Belt, One Road” program.
Special attention was paid to establishing sustainable and long-term mechanisms of cooperation, sharing information on the investment climate in both countries, and outlining concrete steps for implementing the agreements reached.
During the meeting, Assan Zhakishev noted that the visit marked an important step toward a new stage of partnership based on trust, mutual benefit, and a strategic approach. He emphasized the significance of international exhibitions as an effective tool for business engagement and expressed confidence that the participation of the Beijing delegation in the upcoming event would open new opportunities for launching joint projects.
The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive support to Chinese partners in organizing business events, coordinating negotiations, and ensuring post-exhibition follow-up.
Following the negotiations, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in deepening economic cooperation and agreed to work on creating joint working groups and action plans in the areas of trade, investment, and technology exchange.
