On November 12, 2024, the Kazakhstan-Serbia Business Forum was held in Belgrade, serving as an important platform for discussing the prospects of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Serbia. The event was attended by Mihajlo Vesović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Serbia, Madi Atamkulov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Serbia, and Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan.

In his speech, Murat Karimsakov emphasized the importance of historical ties between the two countries.

“Our cooperation has continued for almost three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1996. Despite the distance and different economic realities, we have managed to build a strong foundation for partnership,” the speaker said.

He also highlighted the dynamic growth of trade between the two countries, noting that trade turnover in 2023 increased by 23%, reaching over 91 million USD. This growth demonstrates the expansion of mutual interests and the strengthening of economic ties. It shows that companies from Kazakhstan and Serbia are finding common ground and opening new opportunities for partnership.

“Kazakhstan supplies Serbia with a wide range of goods, including agricultural products and mineral fertilizers. In turn, Serbia exports pharmaceuticals, tobacco products, and agricultural equipment to Kazakhstan. Both countries can significantly expand this interaction through new trade directions and industrial cooperation,” Karimsakov noted.

The Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce also shared the successes of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" and the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan in improving the conditions for business and investment, and proposed that forum participants take advantage of the National Digital Investment Platform, which already includes more than 755 investment projects worth 40 billion USD.

“We follow an open-door policy for foreign investors, ensuring a predictable tax regime and creating a fair business environment. To support international cooperation, the National Digital Investment Platform has been developed. This allows us to assist investors at all stages, from finding partners to providing comprehensive project support. Our goal is to ensure that cooperation between our countries yields sustainable results and benefits all parties,” emphasized the head of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan.

It is also worth noting that during the forum, a bilateral meeting took place between the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Serbia, Mihajlo Vesović, and Murat Karimsakov, along with other officials, where they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and develop bilateral projects.

The forum also included business dialogues and B2B meetings, during which Kazakhstani businesses met with Serbian companies from various sectors, including medicine and pharmaceuticals (Aeromed Technology Group, Grand Pharmaceutical doo Beograd), logistics and automotive industries/transportation (CMA CGM POMORSKA AGENCIJA DOO, EMA DOO VF Holding, Trans Cargo Logistic doo).

During the dialogues, companies involved in the production and sale of rose seedlings and vegetable seeds, as well as water and wastewater treatment technologies (Kalem - Voće Miladinović, Superior doo, SIGMA CRVENKA DOO), were also represented. Additionally, cooperation in agriculture, scientific research, biotechnology, and experimental development, including biotechnical sciences, was discussed. Kazakhstani companies also established contacts with partners in sales and export mediation, construction, and seedling production (Monteagro DLM, Structura Concept).
