A forum “Latvia — Kazakhstan 2026” was held in Astana with the participation of business communities from both countries

On May 25, a business forum “Latvia — Kazakhstan 2026” was held in Astana, aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation, expanding direct business contacts, and strengthening interaction between business representatives of Kazakhstan and Latvia.

As part of the forum, opportunities for cooperation were presented in the fields of finance and investment, agribusiness, meat and dairy products, green economy, transport and logistics, IT and artificial intelligence, as well as mechanical engineering.

The forum was attended by Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Climate and Energy of Latvia Jānis Irbe, Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Kazakhstan Dace Rutka, as well as representatives of business circles and профильных companies from both countries. Representing the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken,” Bauyrzhan Akhmetayev, Deputy Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Complex and Food Industry, took part in the forum.

The Latvian delegation included representatives of companies such as Rietumu Banka, AS Riga Port Group / Baltijas Tranzīta Serviss (BTS), Stena Line, Stena Line Ports Ventspils, VAKS, LATRAPS, SIA Riga Bulk Terminal, SIA Jaunzeltini / WT Terminals, KS Jurgensburg Agro, Scandagra Latvia, Cēsu gaļas kombināts, Smiltenes piens, STC, SIA Jauda, Latvijas valsts meži (LVM), SIA Antvort, SIA Orange NET, SIA Fixar / The Untitled Ventures, as well as the Baltic-Central Asian Association for Economic Development.

The delegation covered such sectors as finance and investment, logistics, port infrastructure, agro-industrial complex, food industry, mechanical engineering, environmental protection, IT, and innovation. From the Kazakh side, companies including Jan Ayar, SP BKM LLP, MERIS LLP, Pascal LLP, PrimeAI Partners, DOOR2DOOR LLP, Central Supply LLP, KazakhExport LLP, Finex Standart LLP, AIMAR-INVESTMENT LLP, EXPO TIME LLP, and others took part in the forum.

Following the business program, B2B meetings were held, during which participants discussed prospects for cooperation, investment opportunities, and new areas of interaction between Kazakh and Latvian businesses.

The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan facilitated informing and inviting representatives of domestic businesses to participate in the forum, which was aimed at developing international cooperation, strengthening business ties, and expanding direct engagement with Latvian partners.

Holding such events contributes to strengthening business dialogue between Kazakhstan and Latvia, as well as creating additional opportunities for implementing joint projects and expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
