Astana Business Community and Latvian Delegation Hold Meeting to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation

On May 25, a meeting between the Astana business community and a delegation of the Republic of Latvia was held in Astana, aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation, expanding direct business contacts, and strengthening interaction between business representatives of the two countries.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to key areas of business support, foreign economic activity, and the investment opportunities of the capital, as well as prospects for building partnerships between Kazakh and Latvian companies.

As part of the business program, Azamat Zhusipbek, Head of the Small Business Development Department, presented the Multifunctional Entrepreneur Service Center and the “One Village – One Product” stand. In addition, Kanat Alin, Director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Astana, delivered a presentation on the Chamber’s activities, while Sabit Mukhamedzhanuly, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of GRCI AstanaInvest LLP, spoke about the preferences and incentives of the special economic zone. Aleksandrs Vidjakins, Chairman of the Board of the Baltic and Central Asian Economic Development Association, also introduced participants to the activities of the Latvian delegation.

The delegation of the Republic of Latvia included representatives of major companies and industry associations, including SIA Riga Bulk Terminals, Stena Line Ports Ventspils AS, Stena Line SIA, SIA Antvort, SIA Fixar / The Untitled Ventures, SIA Scandagra Latvia, SIA Jaunzeltini / WT Terminals, SIA Jauda, AS Riga Port Group, KS Jurgensburg Agro, Latraps, KS VAKS, STC, Smiltenes piens, AS Baltijas Tranzīta Serviss (BTS), the Baltic and Central Asian Economic Development Association, as well as the Central Union of Latvian Dairy Farmers. The delegation represented sectors such as logistics, transit, port infrastructure, agro-industrial development, processing, investment, mechanical engineering, certification, and international trade.

 

The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan acted as a co-organizer of the event. A key part of the meeting was open networking among participants, during which the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in logistics, trade, the agro-industrial sector, industrial cooperation, and investment, while also establishing direct business contacts for future collaboration.
