Meeting between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and Zhongjiang International Corporation held in Astana

On August 14, 2025, at the premises of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" in Astana, the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (KAZCIC) held a meeting with a delegation from Zhongjiang International Corporation.

Zhongjiang International Corporation is a diversified state-owned company with a strong financial foundation, extensive international experience, and a comprehensive approach to project implementation. Combining construction, trade, and infrastructure investment, the corporation operates successfully under the “Belt and Road” initiative and new urban development models, having earned a reputation as a reliable partner for long-term cooperation.

The Kazakh side was represented by Alisher Darkembayev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Activities Department of the KAZCIC, and Zhenis Taishytaev, Director of the Astana Chamber of Entrepreneurs. The Chinese side included Hu Lin, Deputy General Director of China Jiangsu International Group, Aketilek Berlieskhan, Commercial Affairs Assistant, Gulmira Saliyeva, the company’s representative in Kazakhstan, and Rustem Bektrumov, Executive Director of TRZ ENERGY LLP.

During the meeting, the corporation presented its history, structure, main activities, and experience in implementing international projects, including those in Central Asian countries. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in infrastructure construction, development of transport and logistics hubs, creation of industrial parks, residential complexes, and energy facilities, including renewable energy projects.

Special attention was given to opportunities within the “Belt and Road” initiative, joint investment projects, the use of public-private partnership formats, and the introduction of advanced technologies. The discussion also covered personnel training and education, specialist exchange programs, establishment of training centers, internships, technology transfer, and capacity building.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties identified priority areas of cooperation, agreed on approaches to forming a roadmap, and considered the possibility of signing memorandums of understanding.

Alisher Darkembayev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Activities Department of the KAZCIC, noted: “We see great potential for expanding partnerships with foreign companies in areas such as infrastructure construction and modernization, development of logistics hubs, introduction of advanced technologies in industry, and training personnel for new economic projects. I am confident that today’s meeting will mark the beginning of a fruitful dialogue and pave the way for joint projects that will benefit our economies, create new jobs, and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.”

Following the talks, both sides confirmed their interest in long-term cooperation and agreed to continue work on specific areas of collaboration.
