

Strengthening economic partnership: meeting with the UAE Minister of Energy took place in Astana

On May 29, 2025, a round table was held at the Astana International Financial Center with the participation of His Excellency Suhail Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board of the Chamber International Commerce of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov.
The meeting became an important platform for discussing topical issues of developing energy cooperation, attracting investments and introducing sustainable technologies. Kazakhstan and the UAE demonstrate confident positive dynamics in foreign economic relations.
According to the data for January–February 2025, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to 42.1 million US dollars, an increase of 62% compared to the same period last year. Exports from Kazakhstan to the Emirates reached 9.2 million US dollars, while imports increased 2.6 times to 32.9 million US dollars. More than 300 Kazakhstani companies are already exporting their products to the UAE.
In his speech, Murat Karimsakov noted:
"Kazakhstan retains the status of one of the most attractive countries for investment in the region. Since 2005, the accumulated volume of direct investments from the UAE has exceeded 4.1 billion US dollars. Today, over 40 joint projects worth more than 6.5 billion dollars are under implementation. We see great potential for further deepening our partnership in areas such as energy, logistics, agriculture, and green technologies."
Special attention was paid at the meeting to the localization of production in Kazakhstan, the construction of infrastructure, as well as personnel training and technology transfer. A project for the construction of a 1 GW wind farm in Zhambyl region was presented separately as one of the flagship examples of energy cooperation.
The Chamber International Commerce of Kazakhstan expressed its readiness to act as a reliable partner in the implementation of mutually beneficial projects and further integration of the business circles of the two countries.
