Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship in TCCI: Action Plan for 2026 Approved in Turkestan
On February 20, 2026, a meeting of the Working Group of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) was held in Turkestan city. The event was moderated by the Chairman of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, Murat Karimsakov.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Turkic Investment Fund, Bagdat Amreyev, Chairman of the Turkestan Regional Maslikhat and Chairman of the Regional Council Nuraly Abishov, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Merey Mukazhan, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry Adem Kula, Chairwoman of the Council of Women Entrepreneurs of the Turkic States Lazzat Ramazanova, as well as heads of chambers of commerce and industry of the participating countries.

Opening the meeting, Murat Karimsakov noted that in 2026, the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold the chairmanship in the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which lends particular significance to shaping a practical cooperation agenda. The central focus of the meeting was the approval of the Action Plan for 2026, aimed at developing multilateral engagement among the business communities of the Turkic states and implementing joint economic initiatives.
During the discussion, participants emphasized that the approved Action Plan must not become a formal document but an effective instrument containing clear priorities, implementation mechanisms, designated executors, and specific timelines. Such an approach will ensure the practical implementation of decisions and build a sustainable architecture of economic cooperation in the long term.
Following the meeting, a vote was held, as a result of which the 2026 Action Plan of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry was unanimously approved. The document provides for the implementation of a set of initiatives aimed at expanding business cooperation, developing industrial and agro-industrial collaboration, enhancing cooperation in the services sector, and creating favorable conditions for the promotion of joint investment projects.
Special attention was paid to strengthening the institutional capacity of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry and increasing its effectiveness as a key platform for interaction among the business communities of the Organization of Turkic States. Participants highlighted the importance of establishing sustainable coordination mechanisms to facilitate prompt decision-making and effective implementation.

It is worth noting that a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and “QazTrade” was also held on the sidelines of the event. The document aims to develop joint initiatives to support Kazakh exporters, promote domestic products in foreign markets, and expand international trade and economic cooperation.

The holding of the Working Group meeting in Turkestan marked an important stage in the implementation of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry and reaffirmed the active role of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan in strengthening economic cooperation among the Turkic states, expanding business ties, and creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs of the participating countries.
