Kazakhstan and China Strengthen Strategic Partnership within the Framework of the Business Council

Today in Beijing, the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan–China Business Council was held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

From the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken, the meeting was attended by Chairman of the Presidium Raimbek Batalov, and from the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan — Chairman of the Board Murat Karymsakov. The participation of the heads of Kazakhstan’s leading business associations highlighted the importance of bilateral dialogue for the development of trade and economic relations.

The meeting of the Business Council also brought together Kazakhstani companies such as KAZ Minerals PLC, Qarmet JSC, Allur Group of Companies JSC, Samruk-Kazyna and others. On the Chinese side, companies such as Sany Group, Whale Cloud Technology Co. Ltd., Power Construction Corporation of China, Polyking New Horizons Technology Industry Co. Ltd., Asia United Steel, among others, were represented.

The initiatives discussed confirmed the high level of trust between Kazakhstan and China, as well as demonstrated the readiness of both sides to further deepen cooperation. Agreements were reached that create conditions for expanding trade turnover, strengthening the positions of Kazakhstani businesses in the Chinese market, and implementing new joint projects in key sectors of the economy.

The meeting was held against the backdrop of active growth in mutual trade. In January–June 2025, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China amounted to USD 14.9 billion, which is 5.9% higher than in the same period of the previous year (USD 14.1 billion). Of this, Kazakhstan’s exports to China totaled USD 6.6 billion, while imports from China increased to USD 8.3 billion.

Thus, the Business Council meeting not only consolidated the achievements in political and economic cooperation but also set the direction for future collaboration. Kazakhstan and China reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership in the long term and opening new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
