On May 28, 2025, a Kazakh-German business meeting was held in Astana with the participation of Mr. Bischoff, a representative of the Saarland in the Bundesrat.

Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber International Commerce of Kazakhstan, delivered a welcoming speech. He noted that cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Federal Republic of Germany demonstrates steady positive dynamics based on mutual interest and trust. In 2024, the volume of bilateral trade amounted to about 4 billion US dollars, which is 6% more than in 2023. At the same time, exports from Kazakhstan to Germany increased by 49% and amounted to 1.1 billion US dollars.

According to Murat Karimsakov, "Kazakhstan remains one of the most attractive investment partners in Central Asia due to its rich natural resources, advantageous geographical location between Europe and Asia, and commitment to sustainable economic modernization. We are ready to provide German companies with comprehensive support and the most comfortable working conditions in Kazakhstan."

During the meeting, several key areas of work of the Atameken Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber International Commerce of Kazakhstan were also presented. Among them is the Business Relations Program, implemented jointly with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). It aims to support small and medium-sized businesses by establishing sustainable partnerships with German companies. In 2024, as part of this initiative, 38 SME representatives from Kazakhstan completed a thematic internship in Germany.

In addition, the participants of the meeting were presented with the National Digital Investment Platform, a modern tool that provides direct access to 1,280 investment projects totaling 87.6 billion US dollars. The platform provides transparency, efficiency and reliability of all data necessary for making investment decisions.

Special attention was paid to the issues of protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and resolving commercial disputes. The Kazakh side stressed the importance of the Arbitration Center at the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs as an effective mechanism for a quick and fair settlement of disputes. The Center provides an affordable and reliable legal protection tool, especially relevant for companies with foreign participation, including German businesses.

The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to expand economic cooperation with Germany and confirmed its desire to deepen bilateral partnership in the fields of trade, investment and innovation cooperation.
