The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Held a Series of Meetings in Morocco to Advance Trade and Economic Cooperation
From 20 to 23 July, Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, where he participated in an extensive business program in Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakesh. During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of Moroccan government institutions, leading companies, and business associations, as well as events aimed at expanding bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Morocco.
On the first day of the visit, Murat Karimsakov met with Johannes Hammer, Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Telecom International; Khalifa Al Shamsi, Managing Director of e&; and Khaled Hegazy, Chief Executive Officer of e& International. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and the implementation of promising projects involving international technology companies.

The main program took place on 21 July in Rabat and Casablanca. As part of the official delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Karimsakov participated in meetings with senior Moroccan government officials, including Ahmed El Bouari, Minister of Agriculture; Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; and Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies. Discussions focused on expanding trade and economic relations, industrial cooperation, investment promotion, increasing bilateral trade, and strengthening interaction between the business communities of the two countries.

A key event of the visit was the first meeting of the Kazakhstan–Morocco Business Council. During the opening session, welcoming remarks were delivered by representatives of the Moroccan side, the official delegation of Kazakhstan, and the Co-Chairs of the Business Council. Murat Karimsakov addressed the participants, highlighting the significant potential for cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and emphasizing the importance of establishing a permanent platform for direct business dialogue. The meeting also featured presentations by Kazakh and Moroccan companies, discussions on promising areas of cooperation, and consideration of new joint projects.

On the sidelines of the Business Council meeting, B2B meetings were organized, enabling business representatives to establish direct contacts and discuss future cooperation. Representatives of Kazakh Invest, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken", and Baiterek National Managing Holding also held separate discussions with members of the Moroccan Federation of Chemical and Parachemical Industries regarding cooperation in the chemical sector and the implementation of joint investment initiatives.
On 22 July, the business program continued with a meeting at the headquarters of OCP Group, one of the world's leading producers and processors of phosphate resources. Murat Karimsakov held talks with Faris Derridj, Chief Executive Officer of OCP Nutricrops, during which the parties discussed cooperation in fertilizer production, agrochemicals, food security, and the development of partnerships between Kazakh and Moroccan agribusiness companies.
On the same day, the Chairman of the Chamber participated in the official opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Marrakesh. The new consular office will serve as an additional instrument for strengthening Kazakhstan–Morocco relations, expanding humanitarian and business contacts, and promoting trade and economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.

The final day of the visit was dedicated to exploring the industrial potential of the Marrakesh–Safi region. Murat Karimsakov visited Botanika Marrakech, a cosmetics manufacturer, where he learned about the company's production processes and export capabilities. He also met with the leadership of the Marrakesh–Safi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and the Marrakesh city administration to discuss opportunities for expanding interregional cooperation, strengthening business ties, and establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Morocco.

The working visit reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Kazakhstan and Morocco to strengthening trade and economic cooperation, expanding business-to-business interaction, implementing joint investment projects, and developing new areas of industrial and investment cooperation.
