On 5 October 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (KazCIC) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed at the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken” in Astana.

The document was signed during a meeting between Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Presidium of Atameken, and the Omani delegation. The signatories were Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, and Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The memorandum provides for the development of direct contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries, the organisation of business missions and investor meetings, and support for participation in exhibitions and investment forums. It also covers the exchange of commercial information and expertise in export promotion.

To implement the agreed measures, the parties intend to develop a joint action plan with specific initiatives, timelines, and performance indicators.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic ties and prospects for joint investment projects. Tourism, information technology and artificial intelligence, agribusiness, energy, mining, construction, and logistics were identified as areas for cooperation.

The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to assist Omani entrepreneurs in finding partners and entering the Kazakh market. Particular attention was paid to opportunities to expand supplies of grain, organic products, and meat products, as well as to develop processing facilities and agricultural logistics infrastructure.
