

The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Hosted a Delegation from Yangjiang City

On September 11, 2025, the Astana–Yangjiang trade and economic meeting was held in Astana, organized by the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan. The visit of the Yangjiang delegation was aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation under the “Belt and Road” initiative and exploring new opportunities to strengthen trade and economic ties. Yangjiang is a coastal city in Guangdong Province, southern China, with a population of about 2.8 million people.
The Chinese delegation included representatives of government bodies and leading industrial companies of Yangjiang. Among them were Yu Jinfu, Mayor of the Yangjiang People’s Government; Lin Fengpin, Head of the Yangjiang Bureau of Commerce; as well as executives of such companies as Yangjiang Shibazi Knife & Scissors Products Co., Ltd., Guangdong Jinhui Knife & Scissors Co., Ltd., Yangxi Yongguang Stainless Steel Products Co., Ltd., Guangdong Shunhe Industrial Co., Ltd., and others.
Kazakhstan was represented at the meeting by Alisher Darkembayev, Director of the Commercial Affairs Department of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan.
During the negotiations, the key areas of cooperation were discussed:

expanding mutual trade and promoting products from Yangjiang (knives, scissors, kitchen and household goods, stainless steel);

studying the needs of the Kazakhstani market and exploring the possibilities of localizing production;

developing joint investment projects in mechanical engineering, light industry, and the production of consumer goods;

exchanging technologies, introducing modern quality management practices, and training personnel;
-
deepening cooperation in logistics and creating sustainable communication channels.
In his speech, Alisher Darkembayev stated: “Today’s meeting is an important platform for discussing specific areas of cooperation and finding new points of convergence. We are confident that the negotiations held will lay the foundation for joint projects, investments, and new forms of business interaction. For our part, the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan is ready to provide comprehensive support, accompany business contacts, and contribute to the establishment of sustainable partnerships between our regions.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to deepen trade and economic partnership and to develop concrete projects in industry, trade, and investment. An important outcome was the mutual agreement to give further cooperation practical content and to focus on the implementation of joint initiatives.
