Kazakhstan and Japan Strengthen Practical Business Cooperation
On February 9, 2026, a working meeting was held between Diana Zhakutova, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, and Leila Sarsembayeva, Representative of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan in Japan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh–Japanese business cooperation, as well as practical mechanisms for supporting joint projects.
The participants reviewed approaches to establishing a clear workflow for handling inquiries from Japanese companies interested in entering the Kazakh market. This includes working through applications and requests with a transparent distinction between the Chamber’s paid and free services, which will help build a stable and clear model of interaction.
Special attention was given to increasing awareness among Kazakh businesses about opportunities to enter the Japanese market. In this context, formats for systematic engagement with entrepreneurs, as well as the organization of conferences and meetings involving business representatives from both countries, were discussed.
As part of efforts to enhance practical cooperation, the possibility of organizing two to three bilateral seminars for entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan and Japan, with the participation of sector-specific experts from both countries, was discussed.
Among the promising areas of cooperation are opportunities to introduce Japanese technologies in Kazakhstan, including the implementation of environmentally friendly product supplies using advanced technological solutions from Japan.
The Japanese side expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Central Asian countries and readiness to hold hybrid events aimed at building sustainable business ties, as well as developing cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, and culture.
