On September 17, 2026, a Silk Exhibition and Buyer-Seller Meet is being held in Astana, organized by the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC) with the support of the Embassy of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The opening ceremony was attended by Y. K. Sailas Thangal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of ISEPC, industry associations, and Kazakhstani and Indian companies.

Madina Yesdauletova, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Activities of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, addressed the event. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of direct dialogue between entrepreneurs from the two countries for developing trade and establishing long-term business relations.

“Such platforms enable entrepreneurs not only to learn about the products but also to directly discuss delivery terms, logistics, market requirements, and possible formats for further cooperation. The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan is ready to facilitate contacts between businesses in Kazakhstan and India and support new joint initiatives,” Madina Yesdauletova emphasized.

The exhibition features silk fabrics, carpets, scarves, stoles, handicrafts, and other products made by Indian manufacturers. The program also includes presentations, visits to exhibition stands, and B2B negotiations between Indian suppliers and Kazakhstani entrepreneurs.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council and the Qaz Textile Industry National Association of Light Industry Enterprises. The document is aimed at strengthening industry cooperation and expanding collaboration between enterprises of the two countries.
