

Kazakhstan and Belarus Have Great Potential for Cooperation

As a sign of strengthening friendly relations and developing economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin and Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov held a meeting at the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
At the meeting, they discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral relations, including opportunities for joint investments, trade and economic cooperation and the expansion of mutual trade flows.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin stressed that the task is to bring the economies of Kazakhstan and Belarus closer together, there is a huge potential for this. At the same time, according to statistics from Belarus, in 2021 the countries have already surpassed the billion-dollar turnover in cooperation.

On May 30-31 this year, Minsk will host the 18th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Kazakh Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation (IGC). In the run-up, it is planned to hold an offline Business Cooperation Council with the participation of businesses.
The opening of cooperative projects will take place: in Kostanay - a modern plant for the production of cabins for agricultural machinery, in Kokshetau – a plant for the production of seeders, in Kyzylorda – for the production of glasses for vehicles, tractors, combines and buses.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus also noted that there are quite a lot of topics for cooperation from the point of view of cooperation. The possibility of joint production with localization of fire and rescue equipment is being considered; Belarus has many competencies in the cultivation and processing of agro-industrial products, so such projects are also a priority.
In turn, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov noted that the meeting represents an important step towards further deepening and expanding cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan in various fields, which, of course, contributes to strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
Murat Karimsakov spoke about the main areas of work of the Chamber of International Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is aimed at finding and supporting investment projects, providing expertise and consulting services. He also stressed that in order for investors to have access to complete information, an Interactive Investment Map has been created, which contains complete information for investors, including state support measures and the possibility of participating in large tenders.
Special attention is paid to the preparation and holding of the Kazakh-Belarusian Business Council. This event is designed to promote mutual understanding between representatives of the business communities of both countries, as well as create a favorable platform for discussing specific proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties and implementing joint projects.
