Agreement Signed to Establish the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Business Council

On August 6, 2025, in Astana, a signing ceremony was held for the Agreement on the Establishment of the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Business Council between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and the Association of Turkish and Kazakh Businessmen (TUKIB).
The document was signed on behalf of Kazakhstan by Murat Karymsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, and on behalf of Türkiye by Abbas Sahin, Chairman of the Board of TUKIB.
The creation of the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Business Council aims to strengthen and expand trade and economic cooperation, attract investment, develop joint projects, and remove barriers to mutual trade. The Council will facilitate direct dialogue between the business communities of the two countries, exchange information on business opportunities and operating conditions, and implement initiatives in such sectors as infrastructure, agriculture, transport and logistics, healthcare, mining and manufacturing, energy, digitalization, and new technologies.
The Council will address several key objectives. Primarily, it will assist businesses in finding partners, support bilateral commercial initiatives, exchange information on business opportunities, legislative changes, and the investment climate. Another important area will be the removal of barriers hindering the development of mutual trade, as well as the organization of joint business forums, exhibitions, and trade missions.
Murat Karymsakov noted: “Currently, about 4,000 Turkish companies are operating in Kazakhstan. Their involvement in sectors such as energy, construction, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, and healthcare demonstrates Türkiye’s ability to share its development experience with the region.”
The signing of the agreement marks an important step in the development of bilateral economic relations, especially in the context of the recent visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Türkiye, during which issues of expanding trade, attracting investment, developing transport routes, and deepening mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Türkiye were discussed.
