The "Republic of Korea - Central Asia" Business Council Brings Together Business Leaders
On November 2024, the "Republic of Korea - Central Asia" Business Council meeting took place, focusing on the prospects for economic cooperation between Kazakhstan, South Korea, and other Central Asian countries. The event brought together representatives from government, business circles, and international organizations.
Assan Zhakishev, Head of the Secretariat of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, presented Kazakhstan's vision for deepening economic ties with the Republic of Korea. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation for sustainable growth and regional development. Zhakishev highlighted that partnering with Korean companies not only strengthens Kazakhstan's economy but also promotes the introduction of advanced technologies, digital solutions, and innovations, which are particularly vital in the face of global changes.
He mentioned that the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan actively supports Kazakhstani exporters and assists foreign investors in entering the Kazakhstani market.
"We are creating conditions for simplified interaction with investors and offer comprehensive support for successful business operations. Specifically, we are providing foreign companies with access to the Kazakhstani market, offering all necessary information and support for a successful start. Together with government bodies, we are developing the National Digital Investment Platform, which will become an important tool for simplifying interaction with investors and creating convenient conditions for doing business," Zhakishev explained.
He also noted that the Chamber of International Commerce organizes international business forums, B2B and B2G meetings, and helps conclude profitable deals and establish strong business contacts. To date, the Chamber has organized more than 230 successful events, the results of which have already been felt by international partners. This experience has not only strengthened existing ties but also laid the foundation for new partnerships.
The event also featured thematic discussions on strategies for supporting SMEs and startups, as well as ways to enhance corporate exchange between Korea and Central Asian countries. During the discussions, Sergey Kho, the official representative of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan in Korea, proposed new formats to stimulate economic and cultural cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the importance of further collaboration in areas such as digitalization, renewable energy, green economy, and transportation logistics.
