

Kazakh-Bulgarian Business Forum: new horizons of trade and economic cooperation

On June 9, 2025, Astana hosted the Kazakh-Bulgarian Business Forum with the participation of representatives of government agencies, business circles and diplomatic missions of the two countries. The event was held as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Truman Radev, to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Chairman of the Management Board Murat Karimsakov spoke at the forum on behalf of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, outlining priority areas for the development of bilateral cooperation and expressing interest in further expanding partnership between the business communities of the two countries.
"By the end of 2024, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria increased fourfold, reaching 375.2 million US dollars. Kazakhstan's exports increased 11-fold and amounted to about $304 million. I am confident that with the current political support and business interest, the potential of our countries will be realized even more effectively," he stressed.
The structure of Kazakhstan's exports to Bulgaria is dominated by metallurgy and chemical industry products, in particular, copper, ferroalloys, uranium, petroleum products, zinc and aluminum. Bulgarian imports are represented by pharmaceutical products, chemical and electrical industry goods, mechanical engineering and food products.
Currently, 61 enterprises with Bulgarian capital are successfully operating in Kazakhstan. Among them:
• ARKA-RESURS — implementation of projects in the field of housing construction,
• INTEX GROUP — wholesale of a wide range of goods,
• GLOB CONSULTING 8 — health care activities,
• RBL FOOD — supplies of food products.
During the forum, Murat Karimsakov also presented the National Digital Investment Platform, which unites 1,280 investment projects. The platform ensures transparency and efficiency of interaction between investors, business and the government, increasing confidence in the investment climate of the country.
The Forum became a significant stage in the development of Kazakh-Bulgarian business cooperation, laying the foundation for new investment initiatives, technological partnerships and the expansion of mutual trade.
