Kazakhstan and India Strengthen Business Partnership and Expand Cooperation Prospects
On March 19, 2026, a working meeting was held in Astana between Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, and Sailas Tangal Yangdengluntu Kahum, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to expanding trade and economic cooperation and strengthening business ties between the business communities of Kazakhstan and India. Opportunities for developing cooperation in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, the textile industry, energy, chemical industry, mining, as well as in innovative areas including artificial intelligence and tourism, were also considered.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan Sailas Tangal Yangdengluntu Kahum emphasized, "India and Kazakhstan have a long historical debrooted ties and also enduring partnership. We look forward to what working with you so that more of us can work together for the countries for the benefit of our citizens.”
A key item on the agenda was the discussion of preparations for the upcoming pharmaceutical event - India-Kazakhstan Pharma Business Meet, which will be held on March 27, 2026, in Almaty. Participants emphasized the significance of this event as an effective platform for establishing new partnerships, developing direct business contacts, and exchanging experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
During the meeting, Murat Karimsakov noted, “Kazakhstan and India are friendly countries with long-standing historical and economic ties. At the same time, we see significant untapped potential in trade and economic cooperation. The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan is ready to actively support initiatives aimed at developing business dialogue, including organizing business missions, B2B meetings, and participation of entrepreneurs in joint events. I am confident that through systematic work and business engagement, we will be able to significantly expand bilateral cooperation.”
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue constructive dialogue and enhance practical cooperation in key areas.
