On October 30, 2026, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting in Astana with a German economic delegation led by Ulrich Kinne, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Economic Section at the German Embassy. Participants discussed prospects for cooperation in agribusiness, agricultural machinery manufacturing and agricultural processing.

The Kazakh side was represented by Sabr Yessimbekov, Adviser to the Chairman of the Presidium of Atameken; Aslan Kaligazin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board; Asqar Almat, Director of the Manufacturing Industry Department; Bauyrzhan Akhmetayev, Deputy Director of the Agribusiness and Food Industry Department; Alisher Darkembayev, Director of the Commercial Activities Department at the KazCIC; and representatives of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan.

German participants included Dr Per Brodersen, Managing Director of the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA); Thomas Wallenborn, Market Analysis Expert at the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA); and representatives of AGCO / Fendt, Pöttinger Landtechnik GmbH, CAISLEY International GmbH and CLAAS.

Opening the meeting, Sabr Yessimbekov welcomed the delegation and outlined Atameken’s activities. Ulrich Kinne introduced the delegation members, who provided brief overviews of their organisations and companies. Continuing the discussion of bilateral cooperation, Aslan Kaligazin noted that Germany is one of Kazakhstan’s key trade, economic and investment partners.

“In 2025, bilateral trade in agricultural and food products increased by 23%, while Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports to Germany grew by 38%. The localisation of CLAAS agricultural machinery production in Kazakhstan provides a practical example of industrial cooperation,” Aslan Kaligazin stated.

Atameken’s Deputy Chairman of the Management Board emphasised Kazakhstan’s interest in expanding cooperation in agricultural processing, machinery modernisation and technology transfer. He also identified digital agricultural technologies, livestock farming, and livestock registration and identification systems as promising areas.

Alisher Darkembayev noted that the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan coordinates bilateral business councils, which serve as platforms for engagement between business communities in Kazakhstan and other countries. These councils facilitate direct contacts, stronger trade and economic ties, and the advancement of joint projects.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged contact details and discussed establishing direct business ties, prospects for joint projects and expanding cooperation between companies.
