Kazakhstan and China Discussed the Creation of a Joint Platform for the Development of the Construction Industry
A meeting of Kazakh and Chinese representatives was held at the site of the Atameken NCE to discuss the creation of a Kazakh-Chinese platform for cooperation in the field of building materials. The event was attended by Chairman of the Presidium of the Atameken NCE Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov, as well as President of the Association for the Development of Chinese Industry Abroad He Zhenwei, who led the Chinese delegation.
The delegation also included Chi Kongtao, Vice President of the Building Materials Industry Sub-Council of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Yu Xiaoyi, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Alliance of Enterprises for International Cooperation in the Field of Building Materials, as well as representatives of such Chinese companies as China Academy of Building Design & Research Co., Jiasheng Holdings, Guangzhou Gada Investment Development Co. and Guangzhou Hetai Health Pharmaceutical Co.
The meeting was opened by Raimbek Batalov, who welcomed the Chinese guests and stressed that Kazakhstan and China have a long history of close economic cooperation. He noted that the creation of a platform for interaction in the construction industry would be an important step towards strengthening these ties.
Kazakhstan is actively attracting Chinese investments, and today Chinese companies are among the five largest investors in the country's economy. In recent years, more than 4,500 joint ventures with Chinese capital have been established, and last year alone, about 800 new companies with Chinese investors were registered.
"Chinese entrepreneurs are increasingly trusting Kazakhstan's investment climate, which is confirmed by the growing number of joint ventures," Batalov added.
Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, supported his words and expressed the Chamber's readiness to actively support such initiatives. He noted that the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan has been working for many years to strengthen foreign economic relations and provides comprehensive support to Kazakhstani businesses in entering international markets.
"We are creating conditions for concluding new deals, as well as establishing strong business ties between Kazakhstan and foreign countries, including China. Our cooperation with our Chinese colleagues opens up great prospects," Karimsakov said.
He also mentioned that the Chamber is actively promoting digitalization, simplifying procedures for foreign investors and Kazakhstani companies.
In turn, President of the Association for the Development of Chinese Industry Abroad He Zhenwei thanked the Kazakh side for the hospitality and expressed the interest of Chinese companies in working together. He stressed that Chinese entrepreneurs see Kazakhstan as a strategically important partner and are ready to invest in the local economy, especially in the field of building materials.
"Kazakhstan is a country with great prospects, and we are confident that our cooperation in this area will bring tangible benefits to both Kazakhstani and Chinese businesses," He Zhenwei said.
One of the central topics of discussion was the creation of a joint platform for the production and trade of building materials. Kazakhstan and China are considering the possibility of creating an autonomous exhibition center for building materials in Almaty, which will serve not only as a trade hub, but also as a demonstration platform for innovative technologies in the construction industry. The head of the Atameken NCE, Raimbek Batalov, proposed to create a working group for the implementation of this project, which will include representatives of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and the Department of Construction and Land Relations of the Atameken NCE.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on the need for in-depth research of the building materials market and analysis of its needs and the implementation of cluster projects.
Following the meeting, Chairman of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov and Vice President of the Building Materials Industry Sub-Council of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chi Kongtao signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation and consideration of projects that will help strengthen economic ties between Kazakhstan and China.
