Export, Technology, and Logistics: Kazakhstan and China Strengthen Business Ties at Astana Forum

Astana hosted a Forum on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Dongguan (China) and Astana (Kazakhstan), where business representatives from both countries discussed opportunities for expanding partnerships, increasing mutual trade, and launching joint projects.
From the Kazakh side, the Forum was attended by Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", and Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan.
In his remarks, Raimbek Batalov stated:
"Today’s Forum is not just a discussion platform but a starting point for concrete initiatives, agreements, and joint investments. I am confident that the connections made during this event will promote mutual understanding and open new horizons for economic cooperation between our countries."
The Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan places particular emphasis on supporting non-commodity exports, the digital transformation of SMEs, and attracting investments into the manufacturing industry, agro-industrial sector, logistics, and light industry.
"We believe there is significant potential for bilateral cooperation in these areas with Chinese companies, especially those from Guangdong Province," added Mr. Batalov.
From Dongguan, Liu Guangbin, Director of the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, addressed the Forum, highlighting the city's readiness to open new channels of communication between entrepreneurs and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
As part of the Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Atameken and the Dongguan Bureau of Commerce. The agreement aims to promote direct business contacts, facilitate the exchange of investment information, and support the development of joint initiatives.
The event gathered 15 Chinese companies from various sectors of the economy, while over 40 Kazakhstani companies participated, representing light industry, e-commerce, renewable energy, logistics, engineering construction materials, textile apparel, and electrical wiring and cables.
The Forum concluded with a series of B2B meetings, where participants explored concrete avenues for joint project implementation and strengthening business partnerships.
