The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan held an online meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovakia

On May 27, 2025, an online Zoom meeting was held between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Slovak Republic. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Complex of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov, Adviser to the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Slovakia Zhan Kystaubayev, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Military-Industrial Complex Dana Kasymova, President of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Petr Mihok, Secretary General Martin Hrivik, as well as Director of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration Zuzana Shchepanova.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral economic cooperation. The Kazakh side noted the steady growth of trade turnover between the two countries, which in 2024 amounted to 140.3 million US dollars, demonstrating a positive trend compared to the previous year.

"Today, our exports to Slovakia are mainly represented by such commodity items as frozen products, ferroalloys, as well as machine and device parts. At the same time, Slovakia supplies Kazakhstan with machinery and components, various machinery and equipment, building materials, medicines, food, textiles, furniture and other consumer goods," Murat Karimsakov said.

Currently, 27 companies with Slovak capital are operating in Kazakhstan. Among them: Oftum, a network of medical centers for laser vision correction, ELTECO, a company specializing in backup power supply systems, KANTO METAL and CSBC, sales of chemical reconnaissance vehicles for the defense industry, PROGAST, providing services to the meat processing industry, and others.

Murat Karimsakov stressed the readiness of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan to support Slovak business in the implementation of investment projects and the development of business ties. Special attention was paid to the capabilities of the National Digital Investment Platform, which has already formed a Pool of 1,280 investment projects worth 87.6 billion US dollars.

During the meeting, interest was expressed in signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Military-Industrial Complex of Kazakhstan and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is assumed that the signing of the document may take place during the visit of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to Kazakhstan.

The parties expressed confidence that strengthening the business dialogue between Kazakhstan and Slovakia will serve as the basis for new mutually beneficial projects in such areas as mechanical engineering, logistics, digitalization and renewable energy.
