NCE Atameken and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of China Discussed Further Cooperation

On the sidelines of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council, a bilateral meeting was held between Chairman of the Board of the NCE “Atameken” Raimbek Batalov and Head of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Ren Hong Bin. Also during the second Panel session organized by the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, the head of the military-industrial complex Murat Karimsakov announced the results and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

At the bilateral meeting, the sides highly appreciated the cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of Kazakhstan and China.

"Last year, more than 20 representatives of the regional branches of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade, together with representatives of Chinese business from the regions and provinces, visited Kazakhstan. This indicates the interest of foreign companies in domestic business," said Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Atameken NCE.

The parties noted that in addition to close cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of petrochemicals, transport and logistics, it is also necessary to strengthen cooperation in the field of "green" financing and "green" energy, including in the construction of electric vehicles.

In this regard, the head of the Atameken NCE, Raimbek Batalov, plans to visit the upcoming Chinese International Supply Chain Exhibition CCPIT, which will be held in China. This will strengthen further cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of both countries.

The second plenary session on "Infrastructure and SMEs - the basis of the regional economy" was also held within the framework of the Kazakh–Chinese Business Council.

In his speech, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov noted that the President of our country regularly emphasizes the importance of supporting SMEs. One of the priority areas is cooperation between small and large businesses. This interaction provides small businesses with access to new markets, technologies, and knowledge.

He presented to the participants of the session the SME support program from the Atameken NCE, among which are the provision of service support for doing business; information and consulting services for entrepreneurs and people with entrepreneurial initiatives, as well as the development of entrepreneurial potential of Men Kasipker.

Murat Karimsakov also paid special attention to cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the agro-industrial complex. 

"In 2023, the trade turnover in agriculture increased 1.6 times, reaching $ 1.3 billion. The main export products are wheat, oilseeds, sunflower oil, fish, confectionery and meat. At the same time, there is practically no export of livestock products. Since February 7 of this year, restrictions on foot-and-mouth disease have been lifted, which has opened up new opportunities for the export of livestock products. Kazakhstani producers are ready to supply chilled meat, horse meat and offal products to the Chinese market, however, there are obstacles in the form of inconsistencies in veterinary requirements," the speaker noted.

He expressed confidence that Kazakhstan and China will be able to achieve their goals through joint efforts.

"The relevant agreements were reached during the 11th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee in November last year. Also, on June 25-26 of this year in Urumqi, the leadership of the Atameken NCE and the Chamber of International Commerce took part in the 3rd Inter-Regional Forum of Kazakhstan and China. I am confident that by working together we can achieve our goals," Murat Karimsakov added.

In conclusion, he called for further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding projects with Chinese companies, stressing the readiness of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan to provide comprehensive support at all stages of project implementation.
